Out of Norway
Wherever you go in the woods or mountains,
A winter day, a summer night
By fjords and waterfalls,
From grassy fields with pine trees
From the sea shore with fishing grounds
And to the white reefs,
You’ll meet the country in a three-coloured dress,
Draped in a reflection of the colours of the flag.
Look, a white-stemmed birch on the hill,
Framing the stripe of bluebonnets
Put beside the red-painted house by the road,
That’s the flag, waving in the wind.
Yes, as white as snow,
And as red as the evening sun,
And the blue gave its colour to the glacier,
That is Norway in Red, White, and Blue
